Open Windows Defender Security Center

  1. Type Windows Defender Security Center into the Cortana search bar and click on the app when it appears.

  3. Click on Virus & threat protection in the left column.
  4. Under Virus & threat protection settings, click the toggle switch to turn off real-time protection.
